THE CHURCH MOUSE SAYS

                                                     Pastor's Corner

It is so important that we find a place while we are on our faith journey, where we cannot only be fed, but also learn how to feed others.  When we look for a church we look all too often for a place that only satisfies our needs.  Don't get me wrong, it is important that our needs be met, but is that the only reason we go to church?

We look for places that already have grand and glorious worship services and we simply plug ourselves into the event.  We search for that already fabulous youth program where our children can go immediately and experience the power of Christ's presence through children their own age.  I experienced this when I was a teenager in Pasadena, Texas.  It is great when you can find these places to become a part of in your journey.

These churches weren't always big and dynamic.  They started small with few people to do the work, even sometimes even fewer dollars.  What happened was that the people came and recognized that the church had a need for their commitment, their willingness to roll up their sleeves and build a church from the bottom.  No, they didn't have grand and glorious worship with big choirs and room filled to capacity, but what they have (just like the big ones) was the presence of God whenever two or more are gathered in God's name.

No, when they began they didn't have these fantastic programs that would draw those only looking for their satisfaction, but what they had was a desire to draw those who were looking to learn what it means to serve the Lord.  With the right spirit, God will grow God's church.  It will take time, but most importantly it takes people, the true church, to do the work of the Lord.

Fellowship Christian Church in  Broken Arrow, Oklahoma is small, but only in numbers.  We have wonderful, dedicated individuals who only need one thing, YOU to help grow the ministry of Jesus Christ.  We are involved in our community through Broken Arrow Neighbors, Cedarcrest Nursing Home, Partners in Education, along with our involvement through world ministries.  We open our doors to an ecumenical event called 'A Gospel Sing', every other Thursday night.  Our building is paid for; we have a beautiful sanctuary and a willingness to change.

Together with you we can grow our relationship with God through the ministry of Jesus.  We can learn from each other on what it means to be an instrument of God's love and forgiveness in the world.  No matter how big or how small, we worship the same one only true God, we experience the same living Christ, and we are empowered by the same Holy Spirit.  We hope you will come and bless us.

    Until next time!!!
